Burger King Heading for Czech Motorways: First Restaurant on Czech Motorway System at Benzina Plus Filling Station on D11 [08.11.2010]
Prague, 5th November 2010 – BENZINA started cooperation with the fast-food chain Burger King, which opened a new restaurant at a BENZINA Plus filling station on the third kilometre of the D11 motorway on the way out of Prague. This is the first BURGER KING restaurant on the Czech motorway system and the eighth one in the Czech Republic.
This is the first step in our cooperation with Benzina, and I firmly believe that we will be opening many more restaurants at other Benzina filling stations," said Jan Mráz, Managing Director of BK Team, a.s., one of the three companies operating Burger King restaurants in the Czech Republic, in connection with the opening of the new restaurant. “At this time, we are working with Benzina management on selecting suitable locations." According to Jan Mráz, expanding onto the Czech motorway system is a long-term objective of BURGER KING.
“A very important part of our strategy is expanding and improving the quality of our food services," explains Martin Durčák, CEO of BENZINA, s.r.o. “Teaming up with a strong partner such as Burger King seems to us to be a very progressive and a mutually beneficial partnership," concluded Martin Durčák.
The new BURGER KING restaurant will have a unique position in the Czech Republic, not only because it is the chain’s first restaurant on the Czech motorways, but also because it will be the first in the Czech Republic to have a “Drive Thru” service, which will be put into operation in the spring of next year. Jan Mráz of BK Team, a.s. added that the new restaurant will also be unique in terms of design. “The look of the restaurant is characterised by a fresh, polished style with contemporary and metal elements, black accents, and other artistic components emphasising the basic principle behind our food preparation – grilling over a real fire,” said Jan Mráz.
