The quality of motor fuels is sufficient, 53 percent of Czech drivers think [14.11.2011]"Benzina has long concentrated on offering high quality fuel to motorists. In this area we are a professional, reliable and quality participant in the fuel market. Our fuels have passed all ČOI inspections without any problems this year. Aside from that we also make use of quality checks under the SGS Quality Seal system," said Benzina's Quality Control Director Václav Loula.
Interest in quality growing
A total of 53 % of respondents believe that the quality of fuel on offer in the Czech Republic is sufficient, while 40 % think the opposite. More than half of the people polled follow the results of quality inspections by the Czech Trade Inspectorate (ČOI), which regularly issues a list of fuelling stations that have violated the legal standards. Two thirds of drivers interviewed in the poll also said they would welcome it if fuel inspections were more frequent.
"Of course we would welcome tighter conditions that aim to prevent tax evasion, expand inspections and publish lists of stations with fuel defects. I would emphasise that the most dangerous findings are those that could damage a vehicle's engine, the health of passengers or the environment," Benzina's Quality Control Director Václav Loula adds.
"Interest in quality is growing among drivers in the Czech Republic, which is attested to by the growing number of questions about fuel parameters and the growing demand for our VERVA premium fuels," says Loula. "Currently there is a very specific interest in the winter properties of our diesel fuels."
VERVA Diesel
This premium diesel, designed for modern diesel engines, was put on the market in 2009. With its excellent properties, it is unique on the domestic market with a cetane number of 60. A modern formula of additives ensures higher performance, reduced consumption and a quiet and smooth engine. Independent expert tests by publications such as MF Dnes or Svět Motorů have evaluated VERVA Diesel as the best on the market among the competition.
Verva 100 Petrol
VERVA 100 is a high octane premium petrol with extra additives, designed for modern automobile engines with a higher compression ratio, as well as for high performance sport motorcycles. The fuel's main benefits are lower consumption, assurance of higher engine performance, effective energy use, reduction of friction loss and a significant cleaning effect. In addition to VERVA 100, Benzina also offers a VERVA 95 version.
The various versions of VERVA premium fuels are now available at 200 Benzina fuelling stations.
The poll took place on 23 September 2011 at a chemistry fair in Prague during the International Year of Chemistry 2011, with 588 respondents taking part. The Czech Republic's general partner for the International Year of Chemistry 2011 is the Unipetrol group, of which Benzina is a member.
