 A girl was born to Benzina’s employee in his car at a Benzina petrol station on Prague’s inner by-pass. 

Prague, 19 April 2012 - In 2012, Benzina will be opening another 88 of its STOP CAFÉ fast food restaurants. Each café will be offering freshly brewed coffee along with the traditional hot dogs. In addition, Benzina is planning to extend the range of alternate fuels it provides to customers and to also open another of its Expres 24 automated, self-service fueling station. At this time, Benzina is also in the midst of its "Verva, the Winner's Fuel" marketing campaign for its line of premium motor fuels.

Brno, 22 March 2012 – Benzina officially expanded its wide collection of standard and premium fuels to include CNG fuel today. In cooperation with RWE it held an official opening for a compressed natural gas filling station at its Benzina Plus Brno Slatina location. It will be available to drivers 24 hours a day. Benzina plans to offer drivers further CNG stations this year. 

Prague, 12 March 2012 - BENZINA, s.r.o. is launching the “VERVA: FUEL OF WINNERS” campaign, which will include a contest for tickets to the PORSCHE SUPERCUP and Formula 1 races in Hockenheim. A trip for two including travel expenses, accommodations and tickets to the races awaits twenty lucky winners. Other prizes include 180 vouchers for VERVA fuel valued at CZK 500 and other stylish gifts. The campaign will take place in two phases in the period from 12 March to 3 June 2012.

RWE began operation of a new compressed natural gas (CNG) refuelling station in Brno today. The CNG station is located on Hviezdoslavova ulice and is part of a classic Benzina filling station.

 The station is open non-stop, 24 hours daily. Tanking up with CNG can be paid directly at the Benzina cash using existing CNG cards, bank cards, fleet cards and in cash. Motorists thus no longer need to drive their vehicles onto gas company or public transport company grounds for CNG and can take full advantage of all the services that Benzina offers at its filling stations.

 The price of CNG is half that of petrol or diesel, meaning CNG vehicles can save their owners considerable amounts in operating costs. RWE currently operates 10 filling stations around the Czech Republic and is the largest retailer of CNG on the market.

Benzina has recorded a growing demand for premium fuels.

Prague, 10 November 2011 - More than half of drivers see the quality of fuel on offer at Czech pumps positively, while four out of ten motorists think the quality of fuels offered in the Czech Republic is insufficient. The results come from a poll carried out by Benzina among drivers at a chemistry fair in Prague. Fuel parameters are an important criterion in drivers' choice of fuelling station. During the third quarter of 2011, Benzina recorded record interest in its VERVA premium fuels.

The fifth annual traditional PETROLawards 11, recognising significant feats in the area of petroleum, petrochemicals and petrol stations in the Czech Republic, have been handed out to their winners.

Prague, 8th September 2011 – The HC VERVA Litvínov hockey club is starting the new season not only with a new name but also with Martin Ručinský as the team captain. The club’s sports goal is to advance to the Tipsport ELH playoffs. In the coming year space will be given again also to young players and own pupils. The fans themselves decided that the club’s mascot will be the cheetah VERVÁK. The prices of permanent tickets and entry to the main parts remain unchanged.

Prague, 7th April 2011 - Today BENZINA unveiled the first fully self-service fuel station on the Czech market, also known as Expres 24. The new self-service fuel station has been in operation since April 1, in Vysoké Mýto. BENZINA is also testing two fuel station brands popular in neighbouring countries, i.e. STAR (known in Germany) and ORLEN (a Polish brand also introduced on the Lithuanian market). Both stations will sell BENZINA fuels. Given its strong commitment to fuel quality, the company supports most of the current legislative changes intended to provide more protection for consumers and to limit tax evasion on the side of petrol station companies. BENZINA is also proposing that obligatory report performed by the Czech Trade Inspection on the fuel quality distinguishes serious problems from minor discrepancies.

Prague, 5th November 2010 – BENZINA started cooperation with the fast-food chain Burger King, which opened a new restaurant at a BENZINA Plus filling station on the third kilometre of the D11 motorway on the way out of Prague. This is the first BURGER KING restaurant on the Czech motorway system and the eighth one in the Czech Republic.

Benzina has long fought for the publication of serious deficiencies discovered in fuel samples taken from filling stations. It is trying to make it possible under the law for the Czech Trade Inspection (CTI) to publish serious discrepancies, i.e., those variances that could be harmful to human health, the environment, or automobile engines, or that are indicative of tax fraud. A list of the filling stations and data from the results of the CTI audit published on the website www.aktualne.cz are, however, not the kind of information that could improve public awareness.

Prague, 8 September 2010 - After the test conducted by Mladá fronta DNES in September 2008, which was the first test of above-standard diesel fuels on the Czech market, another test was carried out, this time by the magazine Svět motorů. In both tests, VERVA Diesel from BENZINA was the clear winner.

Prague, 25 May 2010 - BENZINA is preparing some pleasant surprises at its petrol stations for the summer motorist season. It will introduce a new premium fuel - Verva 95 - and expand the sale of premium fuels to half of its petrol stations. The BENZINA-OMV fuelling card sharing project was also launched in May. The card-sharing programme is also connected to the retail information and cashier system (RIS) completed in May at BENZINA petrol stations, a system that will ensure better customer service and comfort. Furthermore, BENZINA, in cooperation with ČAPPO, is now actively following the situation in the market with regard to untaxed lubricants and fuels. Finally, this year, BENZINA, will start up cooperation with the fast food chain Burger King.

Prague, 26 August 2009 – HC BENZINA Litvínov, a. s., is the ninth name given to the club in its more than sixty year history. The Litvínov club has thus become the fourth club to change its name during the summer break. Pardubice, Plzeň and Zlín had done so earlier.

Prague, 30 March 2009 – On 1 April the company Benzina is launching an advertising campaign to support the sale of its Verva premium fuels. The slogan "Take off with Verva" will support the promotion of these fuels. The campaign will take place via radio ads (Evropa 2, Impuls, Express, MMS), bigboards, and print ads in the daily press and selected entertainment and automotive magazines.

In the flood of negative information about the financial crisis, the falling prices of oil and fuels is one of the few good news items. We talked with Benzina’s Executive Director, Martin Durčák, about oil, its influence on the economy and on Benzina’s position on the Czech market.

In the week from 31 March to 6 April 2008 a Blériot road show took place at selected Benzina plus filling stations, offering a wonderful opportunity to see the unique model of the Blériot XI aircraft in which Jan Kašpar made his first long-distance flight from Pardubice to Prague. Our hostesses took photos of guests with this rare exhibit; the Polaroid pictures were then ready on the spot.

Benzina, Česká rafinérská, and Paramo all took away awards for their significant contributions to the field of crude oil refining, petrochemistry, and petrol stations. A project supported by Unipterol RPA was also among the award winners. Václav Loula, a member of Benzina’s management and the company’s Quality Control Director, received the Person of the Year award.

The Benzina trademark has been on the Czech market for 50 years. It celebrated this anniversary by completing the most important phase of the reconstruction of its petrol station network.

Prague, 3 March 2008 – The Benzina company has launched a new advertising campaign to introduce and promote the brand of the premium Benzina plus filling stations and the services they offer. The creative concept of the campaign is based on the first successful flight made by Ing. Jan Kašpar from Pardubice to Prague in 1911. The character of this aviator appears in all three TV spots that are part of the campaign. The TV campaign will be supported also by big boards along motorways and 1st class roads and by advertisements in dailies and selected society magazines. The slogan of the campaign is “We are changing with time”.

Harley Davidson fans have taken a liking to the Benzina filling station.
