Test conducted by the magazine Svět motorů – VERVA Diesel number one [13.09.2010]
Prague, 8 September 2010 – After the test conducted by Mladá fronta DNES in September 2008, which was the first test of above-standard diesel fuels on the Czech market, another test was carried out, this time by the magazine Svět motorů. In both tests, VERVA Diesel from BENZINA was the clear winner.
The test conducted by Svět motorů confirmed that, on average, VERVA Diesel meets the average declared cetane number of 60, which is the highest on the Czech market. On a specific sample from the BENZINA filling station on Argentinská street in Prague 7, a record cetane number 62 was measured based on the mentioned premium quality formula thanks to the additive 2-EHN (1470 mg/kg compared to other tested diesel fuels). Second place was awarded to OMV Sprint Diesel with a value of 57.1. In the test, VERVA Diesel also showed the lowest frothing rate, which adds comfort to tanking. The higher the amount of frothing, the less likely it is to fill a full tank if the diesel squirts out.
“It is the high cetane number that benefits motorists in a number of ways. The higher the cetane number, the faster it is to start the motor. In all operating regimes, it increases engine performance, decreases fuel consumption and combustion noise, reduces the amount of harmful pollutants in exhaust fumes, and, last but not least, extends engine life,” adds Václav Loula, quality control director at Benzina. “VERVA Diesel has repeatedly demonstrated, and drivers’ opinions confirm, that it is an above-standard fuel and the right choice for motorists.”
Even the second fuel tested – Benzina’s Diesel Top Q – ended up well: This standard, no extra fee diesel almost attains premium product levels. The additive 2-EHN and the low frothing rate give away the fact that it also contains additives. “Thus, it probably also cleans and lubricates the engine and increases its lifespan,” concludes Svět motorů about this additive diesel in the assessment test.
